Alongside my work as a coach, I also occasionally give relaxation massages. I trained as a relaxation massage therapist at the OMB Academie and am a member of BMS, the Dutch association for massage therapists. I deliberately keep it small-scale and personal, by appointment, at home in my home gym in the Energiekwartier in The Hague.
My massages are firm, fluid and attentive. I slowly build up the pressure, starting each time with large, broad techniques and ending with smaller, deeper movements. At times I massage more lightly and quickly, making the contrast with the really slow, heavy, full movements even greater. Throughout the massage I keep as much contact with the body as I can, so that each touch flows naturally into the next. And I stay fully present with you and with what I feel under my hands.
I massage the back, shoulders, legs, arms, neck, head and face. I usually finish with the head, because that is my touch naturally becomes more subtle and delicate. This is the point where the relaxation deepens, and you often almost drift off to sleep. Ultimately, what I work towards is that you feel so cared for, safe and relaxed that your thoughts move into the background, and you almost forget where you are. I deliberately offer 75-minute massages. That is just enough to give everything the attention it needs, without having to rush.
The most important thing to me is that you feel safe. Care and respect for your boundaries are therefore central to how I work. Before the session, we discuss your wishes and boundaries, whether there is anything I should take into account, what you prefer and what you would rather avoid, and what you expect from the massage. During the massage, I check in on how you are doing and whether the pressure feels comfortable. The parts of the body that are not being massaged stay covered throughout, and we talk as little as possible, so that you can properly relax. If you would also like to use the massage to address some tension or a minor physical complaint, you can let me know beforehand. I can take that into account within the massage and give it some extra attention. My focus is on relaxation though; for sports massage or the treatment of medical complaints, you are better off with a specialist.

The 75-minute massage costs 75 euros. For your first massage, a temporary introductory rate of 60 euros applies. You pay afterwards, preferably by Tikkie (a Dutch payment-request app); cash is also fine, preferably in the exact amount. I am not able to take card payments. If you unexpectedly cannot make it, please let me know in advance.
Interested in a massage? Send me a message through the contact form. I will then give you a quick call for a short introduction and to discuss the appointment.
